Celebrating 10 Years of STEM and Coding Education in Nigeria
Center4Tech commenced operations as a division of Miu Research in 2014. The same year, we developed an Electronic / Robotic training kit based on Arduino C++ Programming Kit and started STEM training for 7-17 year olds during the summer holidays
In 2015, we expanded our training and coding programme to include Easter Holiday sessions, providing more students with the opportunity to develop their STEM skills during the break.
In 2016, Center4Tech was officially registered as a trademark of Miu Research, marking a significant milestone in our journey. That same year, we expanded our training programmes to include adults, ensuring that learners of all ages could gain valuable tech skills. Additionally, we transitioned to year-round training, making STEM education more accessible and continuous for aspiring innovators.
In 2017, we expanded our Coding Programme beyond its initial location, reaching new cities across Nigeria, including Lagos, Owerri, Uyo, and Calabar. This growth allowed us to impact more young learners and foster innovation across diverse communities. Additionally, we introduced STEM programs for children aged 5-6, ensuring that early learners could engage with technology, build foundational skills, and develop a passion for STEM from a young age.
In 2018, we officially adopted and registered the name Young Inventors for all our Summer coding programmes for kids and teens. That year, we also expanded to 10 centers across Nigeria, including Abuja and Port Harcourt, further broadening access to STEM education.
In 2019, Center4Tech Hub was registered as a non-profit Organization. We observed over the years that only 0.2% of our STEM and coding programme participants were from low-income community public schools and we needed to change the narrative
In 2022, we expanded our curriculum to include modern coding courses such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), equipping students with the skills needed to navigate emerging technologies. This addition allowed learners to explore AI concepts, machine learning, and automation, preparing them for the future of innovation and tech-driven industries.
In 2019, Center4Tech officially became a non-profit organization, reinforcing our commitment to making STEM education accessible to all. Over the years, we noticed that only 0.2% of our coding programme participants came from public schools, highlighting a critical gap in access to technology education. Determined to change the narrative, we began focused initiatives to bridge the gap, ensuring that students from underserved communities could benefit from coding and STEM opportunities, regardless of their background.
n 2025, Center4Tech introduced a STEM Scholarship Programme to support children from very low-income homes who cannot afford university education after secondary school, ensuring they can continue studying STEM and build successful careers. We also introduce Mobile STEM Hub to help extend STEM education to underserved communities.
Center for Technology Innovation and Invention Hub is a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping children and adults in Africa with STEM and Coding skills
Help us expand our impact in low-income communities. With over 20,000 individuals already empowered, we are committed to reaching 1 million people by 2034
